RE: Possession without possession

What is the name of your state? California

My son, A, is on parole from a prior drug conviction. A was absconding. A was at a casino when his friend, B, was arrested with drugs and other paraphenalia. Although A had no drugs or paraphenalia on his person, he was also arrested and charged with possession for sale. A was playing a slot machine and B was standing behind A when they were arrested. At the time of the arrest, B stated that the money in B's possession was money won by A earlier at the casino and B was holding it so A wouldn't spend it. B also stated that the drugs and paraphenalia were B's. Now, B states that the money, drugs, and paraphenalia were all A's. B was also on a Proposition 36 release from a prior drug charge. Can the police charge A with possession, especially possession for sale, when there was nothing on his person? Thank you for your help.

My response:

Oh, we have a few on some Indian Reservations - - all of which right next to trailer parks.
