Florida. i've heard a piece of information and wondered if it was true: my friend bought a small hard plastic box with a lock on it to hold her pipe. the guy who sold it to her says that if it is locked and closed that a cop needs a federal warrant to force you to open it. is this true?

No. If suspect of illegal activity or arrested, the officer could open the box without a warrant. The guy selling the box probably sell a lot of them using that story.
