What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan, oakland county.
Me and my buddy found a jar of weed that was obviously ditched. We brought it home because a buddy said he wanted some. He set us up and got us robbed at gun point. we told the cops we were just picking up money that was owed. I just told my mom (im about to be 19 so i still live at home) and were not sure if we need a lawyer. After we got jumped we dumped the weed out the window and threw the empty jar. What might happen and to who? The text messages on the phone can prove what really happened. It was 6 grams for 100$ but we werent in trouble for that because we didnt say anything about it to the cops and we didnt have anything on us. We've both been clean for 2 months and neither of us have ever been in trouble. PLEASE HELP or even just give advice!

You ask if you need a lawyer because you were robbed at gunpoint? What's the issue here?

I'm just confused as to what could hppen to me. Would i get charged for selling even though i wasnt caught doing it? Or would the police just be more interested in the gunman?

Listen, there is a lot that does not make sense. You found drugs, than the person you were with called someone who came over w a gun and robbed you? But, you actually did not get robbed because you threw the drugs out the window? Than someone called the cops and reported what? Regardless of physical evidence a confession is an admission of guilt. Take a minute, re-think the situation in it's entirety. Than rephrase your question so all aspects are clear. Also if you do not tell the whole truth than do not bother asking the question at all. Are you sure you found a jar of weed than decided to keep some and sell some? That is your story? I am not here to judge, but rather to simply try and serve YOUR best interest.Let me know. The senior members tend to ignore stories that seem fabricated. Once that has been established you may get a sarcastic reply, but nothing of any use to you. Maybe you should try again, maybe I am wrong and the story just needs to be re-worded. Your choice completely. Dave

Ok maybe i misworded it or something but this is what happened in this order.
1. We found a jar of weed, believe it or not.
2. we thought we were making a sale
3. we walked out of the house after the sale
4. we got robbed with a shotgun
5. we called the cops
6. we went home and got rid of the rest

Gotcha. The gunmen took the money and left the drugs? What did you tell the cops? Did the cops find it suspicious that you waited so long to call, or did you manipulate the timeline a little? Finally, what is your question? If you never mentioned the drugs and said you were robbed of money and never mentioned drugs ,than why worry about a narcotics charge? Unless of course you told them you were there to make a delivery.I sincerely hope not. I have a feeling you will regret ever calling the police. Anyway, any specific questions please feel free to ask away. goodluck.
