Man 1 gets posted on AOL's dumbest criminals list. This poster looks forward to reading the story.

"I'd like to report a theft... my dealer mugged me."
"Stay right there sir, an officer will be there immediately."
Cue the mute button on the phone and a room full of people laughing at the idiot making the call.

Man 1 says the chief of police is his cousin. Does that matter?

It certainly does. The fact that he is willing to cooperate fully and be sure that his cousin goes to jail will show that he has no bias and will give him great job security.

If by robbed, you mean like forced at gunpoint to surrender money... that is theft.

Admitting to criminal conspiracy to purchase drugs is unwise.

I'm not sure what you mean by job security... Not gunpoint like man 1 and man 2 drove to a meeting point. Man two walked in and met man 3. Man 1 and 2 wait for hours for man 3, who claims he was arrested. So man 3 has no weed or money. Man 1 and 3 have never met. If man 1 calls the cop what trouble could man 2 or man 3 get into

You could certainly call the police and report that your money was stolen. The police will obviously want more then just that for their police report. So you will be stating for the report that you gave your money to someone for the purchase of an illegal drug, then rode with that person to procure the drug. When the money was handed over, you did not receive any drugs in return and now you would like your money back. You have just admitted to be a willing buyer of illegal narcotics and you can be charged with that and a plethora of other charges.
