Under Investigation for Weed Sale

I have a friend that is under investigation for the selling of marijuana on campus. The police park outside of his house all night, every night. Subsequently, he has recently stopped selling. They know that he used to sell though because he has gotten word from some people on campus that the police told them he was being watched and will be brought down. Basically, he wants to know what can happen to him and what it actually means to be "under investigation".

To avoid legal trouble - Your friend should

STOP SELLING - NOW and FOREVER!

Discard any drug paraphenalia in a secure way.

Clean his living quarters.

Discard any money related to the dealing, certainly any money that has not been laundered. I mean this metaphorically and LITERALLY. Cash with drug residue is potentially seizable evidence.

Consider transferring to another college out of state, or if not possible dropping out and moving to another state.
