Waiting to be arrested, what do I do

What is the name of your state?
I live in New Jersey. Until recently (this happened) I worked for an orthopaedic surgeon. I had access to signed prescriptions. I wrote two in my husbands name for a narcotic. Which I originally intended to sell for rent money. Mu husband filled the prescriptions, but I got scared and flushed everything. But work found out, and I'm fired, and they told me they reported it to the police. When I did this I was in a state of panic. I had a court date for eviction, for the home I've lived in for 13 years. My husband has been out of work for 9 months, we have 7 children, I've been working two jobs, and I've been seeing a counselor for the past few months for severe stress and anxiety. I panicked. I didn't know where I was going to get the rent money from. I've never done anything like this before. I have no criminal record or history. Although, my husband is on probation, for buying alcohol for a teenager, I think they called it contributing to the delinqunecy of a minor. What could happen to us? We cannot afford a lawyer. I'm so scared. Should I turn myself in to the police? I confessed everything to my employer. I didn't want to make a bad situation worse by lying. My husband said that was the wrong thing to do. I just felt like I had to take responsibility for my stupid stupid actions. I would appreciate any advice.

Thank you,
Reply
