17 ViolationWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? My name is Carmen and I live in Florida. I've had my liscense suspened for a little over a year and it is due to 17 toll violations that my roommate tacked on my vehicle while I was away taking care of my mom. Now, I know that this is still my fault becuase I left him with the car and didn't get anything in writing. I just dont know how to take care of this becuase he did not pay for any of the tickets and wont till this day. Needless to say we are no longer roommates let alone friends and I am stuck with all of this. I am unsure of how to get myself out of this with out having my liscens taken from me for a while. I have tried to contact some lawyers to help and they say that if I were to pay on all of them that I run the risk of having it taken from me and unable to get it back. I need to figure out how to repaire this on my own becuase I am unable to obtain a lawyer to fight this for me.I have a daughtere and I do that on a suspened licsense, A friend of mine has the car registered in her name so that I am able to get my daughter to and from school, shop for food and pay bills when needed. I thankfully to god have not been cuaght and know that if that were to ever happen I run a greater risk of being placed in jail and getting a misdemeanor tacked on top of everything. What are the steps I should take to repaire this seriouse issue? I am open to any advice and take full responsibility of this situation. I would love to go after the roommate but at present time i don't know where he lives or have communication with him. |

| You really would benefit from an attorney if you could borrow the money or whatever you have to do. But, if you're going to get stuck with them anyway you should at least plead your case to the judge at the appropriate time and hope for leniency. Also ask for a restricted work license if all else fails. |

Sunpass?I'm guessing your roomie blew through the Sunpass or EZPass lanes without paying, possibly without a transponder at all. They've been cracking down on this lately, even using false road crews working in tandem with unmarked patrol cars. Too bad your roomie didn't run into one of those setups. There are lawyers in FL who claim to specialize in toll violation ticket fighting. I can't tell you if they are bogus or not. I do know you can call the state and ask some questions. You don't have to tell them who you are, but you can ask about a payment plan. They used to have something like that set up in Tallahassee. The phone number is: call SunPass at 888-865-5352 and ask to speak to the violations enforcement section. Good luck
