1st DUI & Posession of 1oz or less of marijuana

What is the name of your state? Colorado

I was just arrested for my FIRST DUI in Boulder, Colorado on Dec 15th, 2006. I was very cooperative with the officers. They asked if I had anything on me and I told them yes. I had 1 gram of marijuana on me. I blew a .17 on the spot and then they booked me. On my write up it said: Failed to stay in single lane (weaving), Possession of 1oz or less of marijuana. I had 3 beers within an hour (New Castle beers) and then I went to to go the convenience store to get something quick to eat. I had my dog in my passenger seat and he was trying to hop over onto my lap, which caused me to swipe the curb (which gave mne a flat). Once the cop saw that, they put on their lights and I pulled over immediately. Does anyone know what I am up against? I have a clean record with 0 points on my license. I plan on getting a really expensive DUI lawyer, but what are my up/downsides. Do I have ANY chance of keeping my license (restricted?). I am currently interviewing fulltime at the moment and live by myself. I have no other way to go to the grocery store and actively look for a job. I also have a 14 week old puppy that I need to take care of. He isn't allowed on public transportation and such. I RARELY drink and if I do, its minimal. I would appreciate ANY feedback regarding what types of penatlies I should be looking forward to and what I can fight, what types of things I could possibly work out with the judge and so forth. For one thing, I know that they treat marijuana charges liberally, but since I had a little on me while getting arrested for a DUI, does that change anything?

Thanks so much!
Dan

Hmmmm... driving drunk, with drugs. Hope you get a really GOOD life lesson. Your conduct is a big danger to the rest of society.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport!

Jet was kind. Most people who are serious about learning from their own stupidity come here not looking for excuses or non-accountability, but for a way to mitigate the damage they have created.

you have done neither so deserve nothing.
