ARD in PA - medical bill question

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

Hey there,
I paid all my fines, and I thought the medical bill for the blood test was included in the ARD fines. Is this not the case?

I just received a bill from the hospital over a year later claiming I owe $300 for the blood test.

If it wasn't included, I have no problem paying it, but I thought everything was lumped into one thing by the court.

Thanks!

A: Fines are what you pay the court; medical bills are what you pay medical providers.

I am not sure on this one...

I believe it is only covered if the county crime lab does it.
I might be wrong tho.

xarfox,

I am going to copy some information that I posted to another person in PA on how to look up your criminal docket online. This should be helpful as the docket will break down where all of the money went that you paid in what is referred to as "costs and fines." You might be surprised to see how many different places benefit from the money you paid. If the charge for taking blood is listed on your docket at $300 and it shows that you paid it, then you can follow-up accordingly. If you do not see a specific charge for drawing blood then the most likely answer is that you still owe the hospital. If you have trouble figuring this site out feel free to PM me and I can try and help you through it. Hope this helps.

If you are not already familiar with the Pennsylvania Unified Judicial System then you owe it to yourself to spend some time on the site.

I can only explain so much about the site in writing, so start by following these directions and then have a blast looking up your own record and everyone else you know in PA. Scroll over "E-Services" in the upper left of the screen, then move your mouse down to "Public Web Docket Sheets." Your case will start at the Magisterial District Court level, and in the case of a DUI it will then go to the "Court of Common Pleas" level. If the case is pending then you will see updates on your PDF document with regards to court dates and where the case currently stands. This is also helpful as you can see what will show up on your record. Best criteria to use for a search is [First name, Last name, Birth date - Then in the lower section just choose "Criminal" that way you can search all counties.]

wow awesome advice, ProSePA

first of all, I noticed on my docket i have a record of a case that i won back in 2001
i had the records expunged, and received notification from the courts that all my records would be destroyed regarding this case

shouldn't this online docket be removed??

regarding the DUI case, the only $300 charge i see is the ARD/DUI charge, so i doubt that has anything to do with the medical bill

time to fork over $300, weeeeee... good thing i'm loaded
