You will receive representation from a public defender, your rights will be protected. They will also let you know what you will be facing if you plead guilty/not guilty. Therefore, you will have no grounds for a mistrial.

What you were being told, a private attorney will "go to bat" alot more than a PD. However, I don't think you will get off with even close to what you are hoping for even with a private lawyer, IMHO. On my first, and last, DUI between my Lawyer and Alcohol classes, not including fines from the court & court costs, I spent well in excess of $5000.00. I consider it a "bought" lesson in life.

You have no clue what you are talking about here. You could always go Pro Se if you know so much. A public defender will give you competent representation for free. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. If you were truly innocent or even remorseful for what you have done a PD would be your saving grace. If you think you are broke now, wait until the fines, probation fees, and court costs start rolling in. Guess what, if you don't pay those you go to jail. Your insurance rate is about to look more like a mortgage and it won't go back down for years. You have nobody to blame for this except yourself.

Your "i'm not selling my car" line of crap proves you are a spoiled little brat.

What dad cut you off after the DUI?

If you have assets (a car) then you have means.

"Smuggling secrets"..... are you talking about discovery here? It's part of the process. Likewise, your lawyer gets his or her hands on everything the prosecution has.

not at all.. who cut what? Please... you guys are the knuckleheads..

everything is about money money money..

money does not teach people lessons.. it means they can just pay and get away with things..

long hours picking up trash or building a house for some non profit in the 90+ degree weather would remind me..

money is the easy way out.. pay for this pay for that..

I should be a judge...

Bring that attitude to court and see what it gets you. You broke the law and now you have to pay the price. You will have to pay for crimes with both labor and monetary costs. The monetary costs of your crime have obviously taught you a lesson.
