Help! I just found out that I have a warrant for failing to appear in Santa Clara Co. Court on a DUI charge from early 1988. I did miss my initial court date, but did appear in 1989 and was fined and went to traffic school. The court has no information excpept the warrant is active. I have to order my records from archives and see if the proper paperwork is in those records, and then the warrant will be released. My concern is that after all of these years, they do not have the paperwork, and unfortunately I do not either. I have not thought about this for years now and I do not recall the specific details, i.e.: date I went to court, school, etc. If this information is not in my records, what can the Court do? This is rediculous, but frightening to me. That DUI was my one and only conviction and traffic violation ever. I have a perfectly clean record (so I thought) and now this. Any advice is appreciated.
