Can insurance companies see dropped DUIs?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Maryland

Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, Juvenile at time of offense.

I received 6 tickets about a year and a half ago for one instance, including dui, dui per-se, failure to obey a traffic control device, and failure to remain at the damage of a property damage accident. My license was taken immediately and sent to the MVA to be destroyed.

Cases like this take 2 directions; they are processed by both the court and the MVA. The MVA gave me a mandatory suspension right after the incident. I was 17 at the time of the incident, and tried as a juvenile in court. I got a good lawyer and 5 of the six charges were dropped in court. I pled guilty to DUI per-se, which I was granted a continuance on (like a PBJ for adults). I completed all of the terms of continuance, and the charge was dropped, and not sent to the MVA.

My question is now that the whole thing is over (trial, continuance), and the DUI per-se was not sent to the MVA, I am trying to buy insurance. Will the insurance companies be able to see that I got these charges? If so, how will they affect my rates, and do I have to tell the companies about what happened? Sorry this post is so long, any help would be greatly appreciated.

They will most likely see all six citations. Rates will be through the roof. Take the bus

Insurance companies aren't going to consider the 5 charges that were outright dismissed. Since you pled guilty to DUI, I think it's likely that will be considered a conviction by ins cos, even though it was ultimately dismissed at the criminal level.

Thanks for the help everyone... I was kind of hoping that since the charges were ultimately dropped they wouldn't really affect my rates, but I guess that's just not the case. I guess I'll just have to shop around a bit...
