Deferred Judgment

What is the name of your state? Iowa

I am 18 years old and 2 nights ago I was pulled over because I have no front liscense plate on my car. The police officer realized after stopping me that the way my car was built- there is no place for a front plate. He said he smelled alcohol in my car so he asked me to take a breathalizer- i blew a 0.144. He told me that I should attempt to fight this because there are ways i can get out of it because i passed all the other sobriety tests, and the reason he pulled me over in the first place was out of my control. He said i was drivin fine and acting normal and so on and so fourth. I was told today about a term called deferred judgment... this to me sounds like the way to go- but i havent been told all the details of what it is exactly yet, the biggest question i have with it is whether or not, if given the deferred judgment, my car insurance will still go up or not? I have looked at the requirements to obtain a deferred judgment and I meet them all. Im just really wondering what it is exactly and whether or not my car insurance will still go up if I obtain one.

Thank you
