DUI from 3 years ago and more...

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Hawaii
ok about 3 and a half years ago i got a D.U.I so i went to court 2 times for it and i was sapposed to do the classes and assessments. ended up working outer island for months while i was sapposed to do that so when my next court date came. I sent my girlfriend to tell them that i was working outer island. She told me that they said she went in too late. So thats how i got my first bench warrant. Then about 2 years ago a friend visited me from the mainland so i took him to the beach to have a few beers. Cop pulls up and gives me a ticket for drinking in public. I ended up not going to that court date either. so thats my second warrant. about 2 months ago i get pulled over with fraudulant tags on my moms car and no liscense and no insurance. My court date came up and my mom showed up for me and they ended up dismissing a few things. and today i went to court also for driving my moms vehicle and the judge asked me what i wanted to plead. So i said guilty then the judge told me that i could plead not guilty and get a public defender. So i take the papers the gave me to the clerk she looked at them then looked confused. so she told me she had to into the courtroom and talk to the judge about it. she came back and said they made a mistake and the judge now said i cant get a public defender. So i came on here for some legal advise, since i cant afford a lawyer i was just gonna represent myself i wanted to know if there is anything i could say that could ease the charges or lessen my time if i do have to serve. I just got a new job so i really hope they dont make me serve time. please any advice will help.

i cant afford to do anytime at all. I have a 2 year old son and another child on the way. I need my license back so i can get to work legally. i can pay fines but have no time to give them. I work monday through friday even just going to court today set me back in my bills. This island is just to rediculously expensive to live. unless they let me go to jail on the weekends.

You maybe not be able to aford to do the time..

But if convited the Judges these days have no leay way with the mins and maxs...

say the minium is 2 days in jail for a first offense...

you get the 2 days...

thank your state legislators and govenor for that... they wrote the law and the governor signed it making it law...

the system does not care if you have 2 kids 10 kids or 100 kids...

if convited you will do the time.. in one way shape or form
