What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? TN
I am trying to find out what I need to do in order to get court costs waived totaling 14,000.00. This all spans from a DUI in 99 and a driving on a suspended license charge in 07. There are no longer any charges or probation outstanding on this case. The jail time has been completed, but I still can't get my license due to 14,000.00 in jail costs. I would like to file my own motion if possible, but I am completely lost. A lawyer will at least be 500.00. Any advice would be appreciated.
