dui/blood test

What is the name of your state? PA.
I was stopped for a dui and agreed to a blood test. I did drink and admitted that, BUT my questio is this I did ( literally about 1/2 the size of a pea of cocaine) and then decided it was a bad idea and did not do any more. that was about 6 hours before the blood test and I weigh 250 lbs. Is this enough to show up in my blood screening?

It's possible... if they know to test for it.

Generally, a blood sample is tested for alcohol... very cheap test, and very quick results.

Other drugs are tested for in a toxicology screening. Expensive testing process, sometimes can take up to 90 days for results. Remember, we're talking a crime lab type analysis, not a medical one done in a hospital.

Based on that, if a blood analysis comes back over the legal limit for alcohol, the toxicology test is usually canceled. To put it logically, they've already got you on alcohol, they don't need to continue looking for other stuff.

The problem is, if you're under the legal limit on alcohol, then the tox screen is done. If it tests positive for cocaine or it's metabolytes, you're toast. Any level is illegal. In some states, illegal substance intoxication carries higher penalties. I don't know if PA is one of them.

pa
so even that tiny amount and nver having done an cocaine in years may show up in tha blood test (less than 1/2 the size of a pea and drink and food and tea after) and is it possible that even if I pass the alcohol screening that the may not further go on and do a drug screening as well

Read what I wrote again.

Blood test..> Test for alcohol, test for drugs (if the officer had reaon to believe there might be some).

Test Result > Over the legal limit for alcohol, drug test is usually canceled.

Test Result > Under the legal limit, drug test performed.

And yes, that small an amount of cocaine WILL be detected, IF the officer requested a toxicology screening.

I honestly don't know how to simplify it any further.
