DUI charges--time limit?

What is the name of your state? Washington

I was arrested on November 11th 2005 for a DUI and a supposed felony elude, (which is an entirely different topic at question) On my ticket that I received, I was ordered to come to court on December 11th in Astoria, OR--5 1/2 hours from where I live. I made the drive and, once there, was told that there was no file on me and I had not been entered into the computers---pretty much that I didn't exist to them, or to the District Attorney, and I was sent away to drive another 5 1/2 hours back home.
Earlier this month ( 4 months after my arrest) I received a phone call from the Clatsop county court, at my workplace, asking for my current phone number and address, and nothing more. Due to them calling my workplace, I have recently been fired from my job for the pending charges that I have not even been convicted of.
My questiion is.... is there some sort of time frame, from the date of arrest, that convictions must take place? As I still have absolutely NO idea what is happening in this case, and have received NO word on anything about arraignment. What is the name of your state?

The state of Oregon allows 2 years from the date of offense for charges to be filed. From that point it could take a couple more years till a hearing takes place. You may want to consider retaining a local Oregon attorney to represent you, it could save a lot of time driving. The way the price of gas is climbing, it could actually save you money.
