Dui/dwiWhat is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? I reside in Iowa. In 1993 I got arrested for 3rd offense DUI/DWI, which was reduced to 2nd offense. For what reason it was reduced I don't recall, but I was convicted and jailed for 2nd offense DUI/DWI. I would like to know if there is a statute of limitations in my state for this type of offense, and what length of time it is. |

BigMistakeFlFar as I know, there is no statute of limitations for criminal record. Perhaps someone else on here knows differently, but it is my understanding that offenses stay on your record for life. It's not like a driving record where it's clean after a certain length of time. |

GratitudeI am grateful for your response. My understanding now, that it is a "Criminal" offense, puts it in a perspective that I had been been in denial over. FYI, I quit drinking upon that arrest and have not touched another drop since! ![]() |
