Dui Expungement (ca)

What is the name of your state? CALIFORNIA

IM 26 and got a DUI like 3 months ago. lOST a good job and now its hard to find another GOOD job with that friggin DUI.

A family friend, who is a lawyer, (and has had a dui), said if i stay out of trouble for at least 1 year, i could get the DUI sealed or expunged. I forget which one.

He said a minimum of 1 year could sheow the judge i have stayed out of trouble.

IS THIS TRUE? Anyone had luck getting a DUI expunged?

What was your sentence? Has it been served?

Here are the conditions under which you can be eligible to get your record dismissed:

(1) If you were given probation, you have either completed it or obtained early release. If you violated your probation and it was either reinstated or revoked, then the court has discretion whether or not to grant you a dismissal.

(2) If you were not given probation, it has been at least one year since the date of conviction.

(3) You have paid all fines, restitution and reimbursement ordered by the court as part of your sentence.

(4) You are not currently under arraignment for a new criminal offense (charges pending), nor are you on probation for another offense.

Seems like CA is about the only state that's willing to wipe your slate clean when it comes to DUIs. Every other state that I've looked into explicitly states "A DUI will remain on your driving record for life."
