DUI OR NOT???????OR What??

What is the name of your state? Maryland

I was in a auto accident 5 days ago. I had been drinking and my passenger had been drinking. I came to a yellow light and preceeded to go thru with caution when a car turned in front of me. I hit that car and then another. I really am not sure of who was at fault. I would guess that I was not. The paramedics came and the police came. The officer asked for my DL so I gave it to him. The paramedics took meand another person from the other car to the hospital. After getting some treatment I felt that I was fine so I left the hospital without telling anyone. I just walked out. No police was there or nothing I just was tired of being there so I left. I never received my DL back from the officer. At the scene or at the hospital no soberity test was given. No blood was taken nothing. I received a letter 2 days later saying that I need to come to the police station to get a release form for my vehicle. (Typical procedure). I went there received the form and took it to the impound lot retrived my belongings from the vehicle. My Insurance company picked up the vehicle for repairs today.. As of yet I heard nothing from anyone about the accident.. What do you think will happen****************************..... I really Thank you very much for taking the time to answer..

You dodged a bullet this time! Call the police dept & request that your license be returned.
Your insurance company will be billed for your hospital ride.

Perhaps you did dodge a bullet in a way. But, don't think that there won't be an ongoing investigation into the accident by the police and the injured party you hit. You could still face criminal and civil action. While no BAC will be available, will anyone find any other evidence that you were drunk?

You can't wait to hear from the County or State. They may or may not send you anything in the mail. If they don't and you do nothing, you'll likey in up in a heap of trouble. State government and departments don't see it as their responsibility to inform citizens about much.

Contact the courts, DMV, your attorney if you have one, etc. to get an update on what's going on.

You dodged a bullet.

Don't ask for your DL back. Go to motor vehicles and tell them you need a replacement.

Don't ask any questions.
Respond, with the necessary info, as requested by your insurance company, or other agency.
Don't volunteer any info.

Don't drink and drive.
