DUI suspension transfer state to stateWhat is the name of your state? IA Convicted of DUI, 1st offense in Iowa. June 2006 was beginning of 180 day license suspension. I have my IA license back now and want to move to Colorado. Will I be able to get a license in Colorado, or will I have to wait another 180 days, under Colorado law (1 year suspension for 1st offense DUI). |

| And when you contacted the DMV in both states, what did they say to you? |

| You'll have to see what the CO DMV says about it. My guess is that if there's a way the CO DMV can work more suspension time in they will do that. That would mean that even though you have a valid IA drivers license, the CO DMV will find a way to treat your situation as a 1st conviction in CO requiring a 12 month suspension. That would give you an additional 180 days to serve. Report back what happens. I'd like to know if I'm wrong. I doubt it. |
