DUI suspension transfer state to state

What is the name of your state? IA
Convicted of DUI, 1st offense in Iowa.
June 2006 was beginning of 180 day license suspension. I have my IA license back now and want to move to Colorado. Will I be able to get a license in Colorado, or will I have to wait another 180 days, under Colorado law (1 year suspension for 1st offense DUI).

And when you contacted the DMV in both states, what did they say to you?

You'll have to see what the CO DMV says about it. My guess is that if there's a way the CO DMV can work more suspension time in they will do that. That would mean that even though you have a valid IA drivers license, the CO DMV will find a way to treat your situation as a 1st conviction in CO requiring a 12 month suspension. That would give you an additional 180 days to serve.

Report back what happens. I'd like to know if I'm wrong. I doubt it.
