DWAI conviction in NY, move to another state will it transfer?

I am moving to another state (FL) and have a prior DWAI (driving while ability impaired) conviction. My license has been reinstated, etc. My question is when I apply for a FL license, they will query the problem driver pointer system to check if you are suspended or revoked, if not then they issue you a drivers license. However, will Florida be able to put a DWAI conviction on a driving record if they have no such statute in that state? FL only has DUI which is equivalent to DWI in NY, but not DWAI which is a traffic infraction offense. If anyone has experience with this I would appreciate it so I can anticipate as to what will happen.

But, yeah, FL will check out your license in NY when you get an FL license and you may get your new FL license with some points already on it.

Call the FL licensing authorities to check it out for sure.
