"Enhanced Implied Consent Suspension"??

Found out quite by accident that I got hit with an "enhanced implied consent suspension". Never heard of this and I didn't see that anywhere in the statutes, and the judge didn't say anything about this. Is this a DMV thing?

Normally, a 2nd dui in 5 years is a 3 year suspension with a 90 day waiting period for a restricted license. An "enhanced implied consent" suspension is a 1 yr. waiting period.

Those folks sure are tricky.

I can't explain the difference between the control from the court and control from the BMV, but yes, there is such a thing as a one year suspension based on implied consent. In the state I worked in, there was such a thing as implied consent. When you are issued your driver's license, you imply that you will take any and all chemical tests that are legitimately offered by a police officer as a result of a DUI driving offense. If you refuse, your license can be susupended for up to one year.
