Entered Defferred Pros, but leaving country

What is the name of your state? WA

I was pulled over for DUI in WA State after a holiday party and blew a .15. I've never had any problems with the law and never had a DUI before. I went to court and opted for deffered prosecution but what I didn't tell the court is that I've had plans to move to South America in April for good. What is the Statute of Limitations on this and will I always have the fines and a warrant waiting for me? What about my license?

You are an idiot. YOu may not legally be able to leave the country at this point. SOL doesn't apply because you were already charged. Yes you will have fines and a warrant. I wouldn't worry about your license cause if you do this you will have bigger problems. You can't drive in jail.

If it were me, I'd press ahead with my penalties as quickly as possible. Do the DUI classes, pay the fines, meet with you probation officer. Then request permission to do the rest of the probation via mail due to relocation. This can be done. I did so, not out of the country, but it worked well. I did have to leave the country on business during my probation, which was not a problem because my penalties and probation were exemplary. Your PO will have powers to be lenient, or harsh. It's up to you how he or she perceives you.

You say the move is "for good", but you never know if you'll need to return, even if just for a visit or business. Trying to run from this will only haunt you. Instead, move through it.

DUI/Leaving town

You have NO OPTION! You have got to go to court and you will almost 100% get probation. This dosen't take long for the court to set you up with a probation officer. You pay your fines, take your UA's and inform your PO you are moving. As long as you don't screw up your probation, there should not be a problem moving! Keep in mind you will continue probation to where-ever you move. If you don't take advice, Don't return back to town! It's best to get it over with, admit your mistake and deal with the concequences and if you do not go to court, don't think they can't find you.
