extradition/texasWhat is the name of your state? texas what is the policy in texas for class a and b misdemeanors when it comes to extradition. for example a first time DWI. its my understanding they do nothing but put a warrant out for your arrest, but donot look for you out of state. would the answer simply be not to have police contact in another state. what would a state such as oregon or washington/wisconsin do if they found you had a warrant out for your arrest in texas for a class b misdeamenor/dwi? want to except lucrative job offer in another state. please answer asap thank you |

| Don't count on that offer still being on the table when they find out about your criminal record. If you don't take care of the matter, you will be a fugitive from justice. You won't be able to get a Driver's license or even a state ID without being arrested on the outstanding warrant. It would be up to Texas as to whether or not you are worth the cost of extradition. Even if they don't extradite you, any time you have any sort of police contact, you'll end up being arrested and held for a few days at the very least. Being thrown in jail repeatedly will probably hamper your ability to work.

| I am from Texas and live in Seattle. My Brother came here to visit and stayed. Without me knowing he was involved in a hit and run in Tx. He was charged with a DUI. He was bonded out of jail on a 5,000 bond and skipped court date. Thank God nobody was killed. There was only minor injurys. He was stopped by the police on a traffic violation in Seattle 2 years later. The police inpounded the car and let him walk away. The warrant in Texas would not extredite. So they did not even arrest him. Two days later there was a knock on his door and a bounty hunter for the bond company took him into custody and back to Tx he went. He went to court and took care of his obligations and was back in Seattle 3 weeks later and now is on probation here. You can run but eventually you have to deal with it. Good Luck. |
