fine payments

I got a dui in 2008 and i have been able to pay on my $8000 fine until recently losing my job. I tried to get my payment lowered but it is court ordered. Im trying to figure out how to file/and what paperwork i need to file to get my fine payment lowered? I live in Pennsylvania.

Call the court and ask for the prothonotary. They will arrange a payment schedule (it can be spread out over quite some long time, but you will pay an additional fee to do this).
