Help

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

The day before I moved from Texas to Florida in 2002 I got arrested for a DWI in Texas, I got a lawyer in Texas, he told me as soon as I got to Fl to get a Fl license and not to come back to Texas, my Fl. license is clean, my problem is I just moved to PA and want to know what could happen when I go to get a PA license?

Did you fail to appear in Texas?

So your lawyer advised you to skip out on court and have a bench warrant issued for your arrest (I'm assuming you didn't appear)? Either you are lying through your teeth or your lawyer needs to be disbarred. Or, possibly, both.

No way. No a qualified DUI defense attorney. No way.

And what's the rest of the story?

No I have not gone back to Texas as he told me not to. So what will happen if I go to get a PA license now?

You need to respond to this:

The reason people are not answering your question is because your story does not add up. It is like telling us your uncle is pregnant and you are trying to find out when the baby is due.

My story doesn't add up? I can't make 2 plus 2 equal anything else than 4. My question still remains, if I go in to get a PA Drivers license with a clean Florida License, what will happen?

OK, so after re-reading the posts between the lines you all are telling me I have a warrant in Texas for my arrest, right?

License

Texas will suspend your license and at some point, PennDot will be notified along with all the other states, including Florida's Division of Driver Licenses. If you manage to beat the clock and get a license with your smiling face upon it, you will still be driving on a suspended license, which can win you a free trip to jail.

If you fail to show up to answer the charge in Texas, a warrant will be issued for your arrest. As they take you away, hopefully you'll tell them who your lawyer was and the advice he gave you.
