ReGood job getting yourself checked in to rehab and joining AA. This should make a difference in your case because you're attacking the true source of the DUI problem which is alchohol abuse. The fact that you drove DUI is only the symptom. Unfortunately, DUI law is not built around dealing with the source of the DUI problem. DUI law just penalizes the symptom. And the result is that DUI continues to be the most common crime committed in the US. In other words, you're not going to be recognized and supported by attacking the source. So, what you're doing won't change anything but possibly give your attorney some leeway in negotiating your sentencing. |

Can't HurtYou are on the right track. Do a max amount of AA, keep track of all meetings you go to and have been too. I got out of doing 5 years in the state pen, by addressing the problem, and doing something about it. One thing no matter what happens in court if you stay on the clean track you won't have to go through this again, and take it from someone that has been where you are. Not going through it again is quite a relief. Alcohol is a depressive in it self. I wish you good luck. We that have a drinking problem can only help ourself once we realize the problem exists. |
