How is this possible?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Maybe someone can explain this to me, b/c i am dumbfounded.

how does someone who has had 3 DUI's in the last 10 years, whose most recent DUI had a BAC of over .15, who is on ocurt orderto not have any alcohol while having custody of his daughter (who had her visitation when he got said DUI), only gets 18 days in jail, one year probation, 1 year AA meetings with sponser, and one year of outpatient rehab (none of which was court mandated, it was suggested by an attorney)? also note the county i am in is very strict on DUI offenses, suppossedly.

Call the DA and ask him/her.

It sounds like a plea bargain to me.

There could be a number of reasons why the sentence was so "light".

Let me guess ... you are the mother of his daughter?

Naw, Carl. The mother would be doing (filing) something, and all kinds of openly outraged, identifying herself with much drama.

This is the mother's friend, or her sister, or her neighbor, or perhaps just someone with a nose.
