hunting with a felony

?What is the name of your state? Texas
Texas
How long does a person with a felony DWI have to to wait in order to possess a gun? I would like to start hunting again. It has been 8 years since my offense, I received 5 yrs probation was done with that in 2003.

According to TX law,

POSSESSION

No state license is required to possess a rifle, shotgun or handgun. There are restrictions on possession by a person: convicted of a felony or a Class A misdemeanor involving the person`s family or household; or subject to certain orders issued under the Family Code or Code of Criminal Procedure.

Yes,but is their anything for for a none violent felony? Does it make a difference?
