Question

Husband's in Prison forDUI/ Selling Car?

MISSOURI/ My husband is a repeat DUI offender, and is currently back in prison after both parole and probation revocations. The Pontiac Firebird he was driving is completely paid for, both our names are on the title, and I want to sell the d***ed thing as he will not have a valid license again until 2007. The woman at the local DMV office said the title must have both owners signatures on it to sell it. Is this still true even if one of the owners is in prison for driving same vehicle under the influence of alcohol and cocaine and telling the judge under oath it had already been sold? I need the money desperately. Please, if anyone is a police officer or has knowledge of such, let me know ASAP. Thank you, Jane

he needs to sign the title since he is also an owner. Is the title you AND him or is it you OR him? If its the first, you need his signature. If its the second, you can sell without him.

**A: that is forgery. Better to have only one person in jail rather than 2.

I don't plan to forge anything, that is why I was asking if there is a LEGAL way to sell without his signature.
