I got an OWI

What is the name of your state? Michigan

I have been recently charged with an OWI. I left a friends bday party, went around a turn and ended up in a ditch avoiding a newspaper delivery lady who was on the road stopped right around the corner. I got out of the car and went to the delivery lady apoligizing for almost hitting her. She smelt the alcohol on my breath and called the police. A little bit later they show up and arrest me. I go to the police station where they tell me to empty my pockets... I have a bag of about 8 grams of weed on me so i get charged with possession too. I refused the chemical test and they didnt blood test me. What should I do? My lawyer can get the possession dropped with probabation so thats good but what about the OWI? The lawyer said i have a good chance with it but it depends upon the newspaper lady. What do you guys think?

All help appreciated! XD

I think you should listen to your lawyer but don't be surprised if you end up being found guilty of OWI.

Nothing stated by me should be taken as giving you legal advice or forming an attorney/client relationship. The devil is in the details after all.

regardless of what the outcome of the OWI or possession charge is, I believe you can waive goodby to your drivers license as refusing to submit is a seperate charge and you willingly admit to guilt of that charge.

I didn't bother to look up penalties for this charge. Your attorney can advise you of the penalties.
