| I actaully do not have the permit as of yet. It will be coming next week and I am suppose to go to illinois for my job. It is my understanding that it is limited driving privleges only between those hours. I can ask for more specific hours but would need a letter from the employer. I am hoping to avoid that. I was just curious if othe rstates especially illinois honor the limited driving. The lawyer said that they should but that he was unsure how actaully honored it would be if I were to get pulled over in illinois. I guess I can call the Sec state office in Illinois. ANy more thoughts? |

| Why is it hypothetical. It seems like a valid question Will they honor the restricted driving permit. I am not suspended/revoked in illinois and I will possess a legal driving document that says I can drive between the hours of 9-6 issued from NC. Not trying to argue my case here. I do know that they would honor the suspension of NC due to the The Interstate Driver's License Compact NRVC/DlV thingy. Just thougth/hoped that the opposite would be reciprocated as well I just was wanting to be sure thats all. Thanks for your input it is appreciated . |

| Definitions of hypothetical on the Web: * a hypothetical possibility, circumstance, statement, proposal, situation, etc.; "consider the following, just as a hypothetical" * conjectural: based primarily on surmise rather than adequate evidence; "theories about the extinction of dinosaurs are still highly conjectural"; "the supposed reason for his absence"; "suppositious reconstructions of dead languages"; "hypothetical situation" wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn * A hypothesis (= assumption in ancient Greek) is a proposed explanation for a phenomenon. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypothetical

| LOL As the Red Queen in "Alice in Wonderland" said, "A word means exactly what I say it means". I just want to be able to drive in illinois. God willing , a crappy lawyer and a lot of money**************it will all work out :-) |

BigMistakeFlIt comes down the the exchange between you and the cop on the street, should you be pulled over. If he is convinced that you are driving within the restrictions, you continue on you merry way. When I had to drive out of state for a job interview, I got my PO to write a letter explaining that I was within my restrictions, that she had granted me this permission. I carried it in my car, in case I was pulled over. Even then, she said it was ultimately up to the cop and if I could convince him or her that I was not in violation. |
