Il Please Need Help Immediately

What is the name of your state? Illinois

Here's the short version. Got arrested in 1998 for DUI, fourth in 25 years, I hired attorney, he said he would "make it go away." Which it did, as far as I knew.

In Feb. 2005 I went on vacation and came back to find myself being arrested at the airport on a warrant issued in Sept 2001 for failure to appear for this DUI charge.

My question is, what is the statute of limitations in Illinois for DUI? Can they really come after me 3-7 years later?

And why is my attorney telling me to take a plea which will force me to jail for (more or less) two years and force me to lose all I have? PLEASE HELP IMMEDIATELY, I am due back in court on the 22nd.

Statute of Limitations does not apply

Unfortunately the statute of limitations does not apply to your case if charges have been pending this whole time.

Yikes, after the fourth time, you'd think you would've learned something by now. I'd say incarceration is the only way you're going to learn to stop doing this, so think long and hard for those two years you're sitting on your butt.
