Jail time for 1st DUI

What is the name of your state? PA

I was just wondering if anyone on this post did jail time and what it was like for them...were you with the general population of the prison? I have heard that prisons have special trailers set up for this and you are in one with another person arrested and convicted for dui and also with a guard. Any insight to this would be appreciated!
thanks

I had to do jail time for my 1st and only DUI. I have never been in any kind of trouble before and I got pulled over and had been drinking. Had to do my 48 hours and I was right there with all the other criminals. It was terrible I do have to say. I just kept to myself and prayed for that time to pass. By the way..This was TN.

It really varies a lot from state to state. In NC, for example it is extremely rare to serve jail time for a first-time non-aggravated misdemeanor but DUI is an exception (but you only go to jail for the night usually and pay a big fine, lose license for a year with possibility of restricted license, and may do probation and community service depending on the circumstances). However, if you had a criminal record, it is more likely.

tss, search this site or google for ARD (Accelerated Rehabilitation)

In PA, you should get the ARD program for a first time DUI, with no jail time and no driver's license suspension.

if this is a first DUI... no other inncodents in the past 10 years.. you will get into ARD..

however you may lose your licenese for 30-60 days depending on your BAC.

1300K fine ruffy

ask about ARD.. no jail and after probation you get a full expungement

if you dont have a lawyer get on ASAP

good luck
