Messed up situation, really need some adviceSo, in Jan. 2006, I was living in Phoeniz AZ and got busted for a DUI. I refused breath and blood was taken. 3 months later the BAC test came back as a .208. I was charged and pleaded guilty to extreme DUI. Was sentenced to 30 days, with 20 suspended, had to attend 36 hours of AA, and pay fines of 3500. Plus attorney fees of 3500. So I did all that and I though I was in the clear. I moved out of AZ shortly after and moved abroad to Europe. I went home to get my licence renewed in Ohio, but they told me there was a hold on the license from AZ. I called AZ and they said I needed to get 3 years of SR22 and have an interlock placed in my vehicle for 1 year. However, now here is the real problem: I am moving back to Ohio this year, I have no OH license. I cannot get the license until AZ drops the hold. AZ wont drop the hold until I get SR22 and an interlock, however, those stips require that you have a valid license! ITS A CATCH 22! I feel like I am really screwed here. Does anyone have any advice or possibly point me towards someone who does? Thanks! |

| I am not sure if this will help you or not, but I was told that you can have an SR22 on your vehicle whether you are driving it or not. Of course this was also in Mississippi. I am not sure about Ohio. Check it out. |

| Thanks for the reply, actually I had a non owners bond SR22, but once they realized my license was expired they cancelled it. Which is why this is a catch 22. Can get the license without the SR22, can't get the SR22 without the license! This has been haunting me for the last three years. I am hopeless at this point and may never be able to return to the US. Or at least be able to drive in the US. |

| You can get the SR-22 without a license. It happens all the time.

| Thanks! I looked into that and an insurance company confirmed it. Now, the question is, can I get an interlock installed without a license? |
