MIC ChargesState: Tx On Saturday, March 10th I recieved a Minor In Consumption. I was at a friends party there was a keg and probably 30 people it was really quiet we were just hanging out in the living room or outside. Suddenly two police officers just opened the back gate and walked into the backyard somebody yells cops and of course everybody runs I was sitting in a chair just relaxing I hadn't had anything to drink yet so I chose not to run. The two home owners (one 17 years old the other 15) and myself were the only ones left; I expect for the police to let me go seeing as I hadn't had anything to drink. The cop asked me if I had anything to drink. I told the cop that one of those cups were mine but I didn't drink any alcohol. He then instructed me and the other two home owners to go into the living room; one of the cops told the other ones that they had "a 15 year old jew" and then immediatly wrote him a ticket for posession of a pipe. The cop asked the homeowners if they could take a look around the house; I told them not to let him and the COP threatened to take me to jail for drinking which again I hadn't done. I told the COP that I hadn't had anything to drink again and he asked to smell my breath, I told him I wasn't going to let him but I would take a brethalizer which he ignored. Then he told me to go outside so I did he then wrote me a "Minor In Consumption Ticket" and wrote I admitted to drinking (which I hadn't done) and that one of the cops could smell alcohol on my breath. However I only recieved the ticket after the cop asked the homeowners if "I was Jewish." The cops didn't brethalize me like I requested so would that help it fall through in court? So there are a few things I was wondering: Did the cops have the right to come in? Is it worth reporting him for the innapropriate remarks? Should I just pay the ticket and be on with it even though I'm innocent? Is it worth fight? And how much would an attorney be since it is only a class C misdemeanor? All help is greatly appretiateted! |

| I don't want to tell my parents seeing as my mom is an alcoholic and I have swarn off that "scene" according to them and a lawyer is expensive. I went into the Plano Police Department to file a complaint against the racial comments the cops had made they weren't to happy about that but the investigator I spoke with was more then happy to help my friend and I out. Anyways I am probably going to go defend myself I do have a lot of money saved up from building websites but I still don't want to use it for an attorney. I'll try explaining to the judge what happened and hope for the best. I'll tell him I know maybe I didn't deserve the MIC but I still agree I was in the wrong place and I do take responsibility for that. I'll hope to get off with just a few hours of community service. Also I do help out with the Teen Court they have and I have done the Plano Police Academy so that will be good to tell the judge. What do you all think? |

| YOu need to tell your parents. Minors should not be hosting a keg party, do their parents know?

In any event, alcholics lie about their problems with the dope. If you do not tell your folks about this problem you are having with the dope, then you are showing signs of alcoholism.

| I don't see how me not drinking then means I'm an alcoholic that is a very far and untrue stretch. Next try and be less accusive and more helpful |
