I was in the car with a 4 other friends in hollywood trying to find a parking spot. The driver didnt completely stop at a stop sign so we got pulled over by a motor cycle cop. The cop came up and said "is there any alcohol in this vehicle"?, he asked one more time and said "if there is give it to me now and ill let you guys go" and he shined his flashlight all throughout the car too see if we had anything. We gave him everything. The driver had alcohol in his system, but they didnt give him a Dui, they gave him some other kind of ticket and he ended up losing his license for a year. While he was getting breathalized, another bike cop pulled up and told us all to get out and searched the car. He found a sparks can where my feet were, that was pretty much empty (less then 1/4 full). The other cop ended up giving me and another friend a ticket for MIP. My ticket said:
(23224 (b) vc per poss of alcohol btw both feet sparks can 1pt/18oz 1/4 full cold.)
After he gave me and the driver a ticket he had us poor out all the alcohol we gave them and put it in the back of are car. I decided to contest the ticket. Both of my friend pleaded guilty already. My question is whats the best way to fight this? Can i just bring in both of my friends and say it was theres, will they get in more trouble? Any help will be greatly appreciated. My court date is Dec 5, which is exacly a week from now.
