minor in possession of alcohol?

South Dakota

A friend of mine recently received a minor in possession. He was in a vehicle that got pulled over and searched. the cop then found beer cans outside the vehicle after we pulled away. later that night the cop found reason to pull that vehicle over again and gave the two people who were still in the vehicle breathalizers to find that they were drinkign. 4 days later the cop called my friend and gave him a minor in possession for being in the vehicle that his friends and him had earlier been pulled over in. he said that the cop gave him the citation for simply being in the vehicle that his friends that got minors were in although there was no alcohol in the vehicle.

Interesting story, I especially like the part about the officer finding beer cans outside the vehicle after you pulled away. But I would love to hear what it was the cop found that gave him reason to pull the vehicle over again later that night? Then for the cop to take the time to call him four days later to give him a minor in possession,,,,, you just don't hear of that kind of personal service happening very much these days,,,,,,,

Now, did you have a legal question?
