Minor Possession in CA, need advice

What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?undefinedWhat is the name of your state?CA

I am 19. I was pulled over having alcohol in my trunk and my friend had marijuana on his person. My friend admitted to having marijuana, and I allowed the officer to search my car [mistake, i know]. He found an open bottle of tequila in my trunk, and I told him it was my friends alcohol who had left it in my car. He gave me a minor possession since I was under 21, and my friend a different minor possession obviously. Should I plead guilty or not guilty when I go into court?

Minor Possession

If all your facing out of this is a minor possession charge, you're lucky. If you can make a convincing argument that you were an "innocent bystander" in this, and you were not consuming alchohol or pot before or while you were driving, you can try pleading not guilty. But it sounds like you knew your friend put the alchohol in your trunk. That's why it's likely you'll get hit with a minor possession.
