What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA

Friend of mine was chaged with a DUI. Went to trail as I am looking it up on line this is what it says Nolle Prosequi. under that it says Order - Sentence/Penalty Imposed

I was under the impression that Nolle Prosequi is basically when the State says we give up and drop all charges. Am I wrong? I am sure I am missing something or mistaken.

It probably says nolo contendre which means I'm guilty but I'm not saying I'm guilty. Has the same effect.

Nolle Prosqui is quite different than Nolo Contendre.

Nolle Prosqui says the prosecution isn't pursuing the case.
Nolo Contendre says the defense isn't contesting the case.

Since a sentence was imposed, my guess is something like ARD is in play.
The prosecution is deferred and eventually dismissed if the defendant completes a period of probation (actually quite small for DUI ARD's, 60 days typically).
