| | | Officer checked "Prepay" box on DUI What is the name of your state? VA
Arresting officer checked the "prepay" box on a DUI summons, also didn't ask for signature and wrote "Arrested" in alleged offender's space. The lack of signature is looking like a no-go, any thoughts on the checked box? TIA. |

| | | If you are asking if this will somehow get you out of the charge, the answer is NO!

| | | BigMistakeFl Here in Florida, cops CAN write "arrested" in place of your signature on a traffic citation related or unrelated to the arrest. It happens all the time, and you do not have to have signed the citation for it to "stick". |

It is NOT a fatal error on the ticket.... and the citation remains valid. BTW, prepay in VA is not valid for the following offenses: Driving under the influence, Reckless driving, No operator's license, and any traffic offenses involving an accident. Quote: |
also didn't ask for signature
| A signature is also not required on a citation. It is only your promise to appear. Quote: |
and wrote "Arrested" in alleged offender's space.
| Presumably, you were arrested for the violation. If correct, then your bail posted for release will act as your promise to appear. Simply, if you don't appear in court on the citation, your bail will be forfeited and applied to your ticket fine. Quote: |

| Yep. See above.

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

| | | No, I wasn't arrested, but it was my vehicle and it's now impounded. Fiance took it out of town to visit dying grandmother, went to Friday's to meet an old friend after, had a couple drinks and was arrested by another old friend after passing sobriety tests. Just seeing if the young officer who's looking for points made any major green mistakes. Seems he didn't. Thank you for the responses. | |
