Old DUI'sWhat is the name of your state? FL My boy friend got 3 DUIs in Annapolis,****land in the 1980's with the last one being in 1984. Fast forward to 2000. He got the fourth one 16 years later. His license was of course revoked. He has quit drinking since then. He was going to try to get a hardship license after the first of the year. Well, In November he was driving home from work and the police randomly ran his plate and discovered he was revoked. No alcohol involved. He was arrested and bonded out. Now he is told that because he was caught driving on a revoked license, He can never, ever drive in Florida again. My question is this, Can he move any where in this country and legally drive again? He is willing to do anything or take any classes, UA's whatever it takes. As I said he no longer drinks and he knows he messed up.It seems that there is no hope and I was just wondering if there was anything he might do to fix this huge mistake he made. |

For him to get a liscense anywhere, There can not be a revokation or suspension. They will ask him in any state he goes. And if he lies he can face prison time. Now they have him driving on DUI revokation. He could be looking at a long jail term. I got this from Floridas website: D. Fourth Conviction, Regardless of When Prior Convictions Occurred) and Murder with Motor Vehicle: Mandatory permanent revocation. No hardship reinstatement. He could be going to prison right now: Driving While License Suspended or Revoked- s. 322.34, F.S. Any person whose driver license/privilege is suspended for Driving with an Unlawful Alcohol Level, or revoked for DUI, DUI Manslaughter or Vehicular Homicide, or for any other offense ordered by the court and who causes death or serious bodily injury to another person by operating a motor vehicle in a careless or negligent manner is guilty of a 3rd degree felony, punishable by both imprisonment of not more than 5 years, a fine not to exceed $5,000, or both. Him ever getting a DL will never happen again. He's lost his right to drive period. Last edited by shawnintennesse; 12-07-2005 at 12:39 PM. |
