'Open Container' questionWhat is the name of your state? Georgia Last night I was ticketed for 'open container' From what I'm reading, open container applies to inside a vehicle. I got mine the second after I stepped out of the bar I was in while still (accidentally) holding a beer. Is this even illegal in the first place? and if so...is it really the 'open container' law that was broken [as I was ticketed for]...? Help appreciated! |

| What statute did you allegedly violate?

| Statewide you may be right, but there are jurisdictions (Athens GA for example) that make it illegal to carry an open container on the public streets, sidewalks, road right of ways, or in a public parking lot. |
