Out of County DUI

What is the name of your state? california

Recently blew .09 in California and am a resident of Canada. I certainly understand my responsiblity and will be dealing with the court system as any law abiding citizen would.

However, I'm curious if anyone is aware of any reciprocity between Ontario Canada and California with respect to insurance or DMV issues? I essentially am not well off and to fight my case, though winnable, would cost between 4 and 10 thousand Canadian.

This would be worth it if I am facing huge insurance hikes, but not so worth it if I am not. My alternative is simply to try and plea out to wet-reckless or similar and take my chances (save my money for fines)

Anyone have any advice? All the sites seem owned by lawyers who though well informed, are reasonably biased toward acquiring my limited means.

I am not sure of reciprocity between the States and Canada when dealing with these issues. Although, we can run a DL or reg plate through Canada, so I would assume that Canada has an agreement with the U.S. They may even be a member of the Driver License Compact, so any suspension here will transfer over.
