I picked up a DUI and will leave the state before the court date with no plans to return
Then you will forever have an arrest warrant to dog you. That also means the state where you pick up this DUI will suspend your driving privilege ... they will likely report it to your home state who will likely suspend your driver's license there ... if you seek employment with a company that conducts background checks (most good employers do this) they will discover this arrest warrant and most such jobs will be denied you ... you may not later be eligible for government supported loans (student and housing), welfare, or even SSI.

Plus, you will have to go about your daily business wondering i today is the day that the police will stop you and take you in on the warrant. Even if the issuing state doesn't plan to come and get you, you might still get hooked up again and again so long as it remains in the system.

Good luck.
