Out of State DUI, court appearance?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? South Carolina

I got a DUI in SC but I'm from out of town. I hired a local atty. He now says that I have to appear at my court date in SC. This is pretty impossible because my license is suspended in SC. Is that true, there is no way to do it other than actually going there?

Your lawyer would know. However, judges like to see criminals before them. This ain't no parking ticket. Take a bus, train, plane, taxi, whatever to get there. Find someone else to drive you.
