How does pending charge affect immediate employment background check? would it show up? If the disposition is a lesser than initial charge, does the initial charge still show up?

My understanding from talking with several people about this. If the arrest is on your record, it will show up on background check. I have a friend who was denied a job because he had an arrest on his record, even though the charge had been dismissed. Because he failed to get the arrest expunged after the dismissal, he was denied employment.
