Penna - Transportation of alcohol by minor

What is the name of your state?

PA -- Daughter (age 17) stopped while driving 3 friends home who had been drinking. She did not drink (confirmed by breathalyzer) and told police she was only driving them because she was concerned for their safety. Friends were in possession of beer (unopened) which she was aware of. She was cited for possession or intentionally transporting alcohol. She is an excellent student/athlete and has never been in any trouble before. What do you think the consequences will be? (I've already taken away her driver's license and am going to voluntarily surrender it to the State so that I can take her off our insurance for at least six months as a result of this.) Do we need to challenge the "possession" issue?
