In 2006 I was taken in to the sherrif's deptartment and held for, if I remember correctly, being drunk. I was on some seizure medication and it didn't go very well with my 2 glasses of wine (I was NOT driving). Anyway, I was fingerprinted, photographed, and put in a cell for about 6 hours until I "sobered up". When I was released I wasn't ticketed, fined, or ordered to appear. I am about to take a background check to get into a college program in another state and I need to know if this is going to show up. Please help me. I would rather tell the school about this if necessary than for them to find it out on a piece of paper.

Thank you so much for any help you can give me.What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

There is no cookie cutter background, so we cannot tell you what will turn up or not. If they run your fingerprints, it is possible that they will find out about the arrest, but depending on the program all they might receive is a notice from the CA DOJ that you have no disqualifying convictions.

If you were arrested for public intoxication per PC 647(f) and then released with no charges per PC 849(b) then the arrest may exist in CA state criminal offender records, but there will be no conviction.

Thank you. I don't know if I should say something to the school or not. I am an honest person, but I don't want to be too honest if I don't have to and hurt my chances. Thank you again for your help. I really appreciate it.
